Dr. Rafael Lara-Alecio is Regents Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, College of Education and Human Development, Texas A&M University. His primary areas of expertise in bilingual education and English as a second language education include assessment/evaluation, methodologies, biliteracy, parental and family involvement, and language development in content-area instruction in science and math education. He is an experienced early childhood, elementary, and secondary school bilingual teacher. He has worked as a teacher to a university president in Guatemala.
Dr. Beverly J. Irby is Regents Professor in the Department of Educational Administration Human Resources, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, College of Education and Human Development, Texas A&M University. She has been a leader in special education, family engagement in science, curriculum, gifted and bilingual/ESL education, and has served as a teacher, principal, associate superintendent, and superintendent. She has worked as an early childhood educator and has supervised and evaluated early childhood education programs. She is an international speaker, educator, and researcher.
Dr. Fuhui Tong is Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, College of Education and Human Development, Texas A&M University. Her primary expertise is research design and evaluation in bilingual/ESL education, second language acquisition and assessment, and bilingual/ESL education in an international context. She has taught diverse learners in early childhood, elementary, secondary, and postsecondary schools in China and has presented and conducted research internationally.
Nahed Abdelrahman Ph.D. Educational Administration at the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resources. Dr. Abdelrahman is the coordinator of Preparing Academic Leaders Master's Program ($2.57 million Federal Grant). She got her Master's in Public Affairs from Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs in 2011. Her research interests center on education policy and principal preparation. She was selected as a Barbara Jackson Scholar from (2015-2017) and EAHR Graduate Student Achievement Award in 2016. She authored and co- authored several publications related to education policy such as Dominant trends in the evolution of k-12 education policy in the United States, Arab Spring and Teacher Professional Development in Egypt, Hybrid Learning: Perspectives of Higher Education Faculty, A Website Analysis of Mentoring Programs for Latina Faculty at the 25 Top-Ranked National Universities, Women and STEM: A Systematic Literature Review of Dissertation in Two Decades (1994-2014). She presented her research in prestigious conferences including but not limited to the American Educational Research Association (AERA), University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA), the National Council for Professors of Educational Administration (NCPEA), Research on Women and Education (RWE), The Universality of Global Education Issues Conference. She plays leadership roles in higher education as she serves as the president of Graduate Representative Advisory Board (GRAB), and the Chair of the Awards Committee of the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) at Texas A&M University, and a member in the Appeals Panel at TAMU. She currently serves as the Assistant Editor of the Mentoring and Tutoring Journal, Advancing Women in Leadership, Education Law and Policy Brief Journal, and Dual Language Research and Practice Journal.
Pam Schiller, Ph.D. is an early childhood consultant who shares her extensive knowledge in workshops, radio and television interviews, and as a popular keynote speaker and author. Pam is also the co-author of The Complete Book of Rhymes, Songs, Poems, Fingerplays, and Chants and The Complete Book of Activities, Games, Stories, Propos, Recipes, and Dances.
